 What's the i and p?

These designations describe how the picture is "read" or scanned by your TV. "i" is for "interlaced scan", the "p" is for "progressive scan".

An interlaced picture uses two "sets" of information and then "weaves" them together to make the picture you see. This takes 1/30th of a second.

A progressive scan picture gets all of the information at once and takes 1/60th of a second. (Twice as fast.)

Another highly debated and rarely seen issue. Some say that the "slower" interlaced scan (1/30th second) will make a difference in fast action creating motion blur. This issue is most recognized on the LCD televisions.

What does this mean to me?

For the average viewer, you won't notice the difference. If you are a big sports fan, get a 720p, or if you can afford it, get 1080p.

You have a right to an antenna!

The rule prohibits most restrictions that: (1) unreasonably delay or prevent installation, maintenance or use; (2) unreasonably increase the cost of installation, maintenance or use; or (3) preclude reception of an acceptable quality signal.

Q: Who do I call if my town, community association or landlord is enforcing an invalid restriction?
A: Call the Federal Communications Commission at (888) CALLFCC (888-225-5322), which is a toll-free number, or 202-418-7096, which is not toll-free. Some assistance may also be available from the direct broadcast satellite company, broadband radio service provider, television broadcast station, or fixed wireless company whose service is desired.
